Wijdeven successful with extremely thin copper wire

Recently, our plant in Ter Apel succeeded in further reducing the minimum wire diameter that can be wound by more than 15%, being from 19 µm to 16 µm (a human hair has a thickness of 50-100 µm).

Thanks to this extremely thin wire diameter, we are even better able to meet the increasing demand from the market to manufacture ever smaller, customer-specific SMD-transformers or SMD-coils.
Extremely thin wire particularly offers an advantage with high-voltage transformers that require a lot of windings.

With this Wijdeven anticipates the market developments and by this step it has lifted its technical capability to a higher level.
