Since Wijdeven was founded in 1939 by then director Ad van de Wijdeven, we have grown from being repairers of radios and doorbells to professional producers of coils, transformers and electromagnetic components.
Thanks to a number of acquisitions in recent years, Wijdeven is now one of the leading suppliers in the specialist field and many new developments worldwide go through the engineering department in Oirschot in the Dutch province of Brabant. As part of this growth, we are looking to add as much knowledge and value as possible, in either the development or the production of complete sub-assemblies.
Thanks to the recent acquisition of Wijdeven by Swiss company KUK Electronic AG, the possibilities have expanded enormously, particularly in the field of fully-automatic serial production. Almost all the production units in Appenzell (CH) are designed and built using robotisation and smart mechanisation technologies. This is resulting in huge advances in the area of throughput time and costs.
In addition, thanks to the other KUK branches in Switzerland, Slovakia, China and France, local production and delivery is also an option for us. We also use our own KUK machines at these locations, which are all linked to our shared ERP system.
All of the branches are ISO9001-certified and the KUK head office is also certified for the ISO/TS 16949:2009 automotive standard. Certification for the ISO 13485 medical standard is expected by late 2019.
Our customer-oriented philosophy is expressed in the way we focus on the later production process and the production location during the engineering phase of every new design. By doing this, we can keep the customer’s Total Cost of Ownership as low as possible.
Our core values: – customer-oriented – innovative – reliable – pleasure to work with
